Top Tier Yu-Gi-Oh! Decks 2012

Tiers and Meta Defined

Tiers are levels that describe how good Yu-Gi-Oh! decks are. Tier 1 decks are the best, followed by Tier 2 and Tier 3. There is no official list, so it is made up of what the Yu-Gi-Oh! community agrees upon. Top Tier decks mean something a little different than Meta decks, but they are usually the same decks. Meta is short for Metagame, which basically means the decks that win the most. From Meta decks came Anti-Meta decks, like banishing decks, that try to counter Meta decks. They usually do not do well against a variety of deck types. Like Top Tier decks, there is no official Meta decks list. So it is also decided by the players.

Tier 1

The Tier 1 decks are currently considered to be Dino Rabbit, Hieratic, Wind-Up, Inzektor, and Chaos Dragon.
Dino Rabbit
This deck revolves around a monster card called Rescue Rabbit. This card lets you banish the monster and special summon 2 level 4 or lower normal monsters with the same name from your deck. Once you have the two monsters, which are usually dinosaurs, you can XYZ summon an XYZ monster. All that just from one card. It is really cheap. The XYZ monsters that are generally summoned are Evolzar Dolkka and Evolzar Laggia. Dolkka can negates monsters' effects, and Laggia can negate the summon of a monster or the activation of a spell or trap card. So you use one overpowered card to summon another, all in one turn. But it doesn't end there. Then you can summon Tour Guide From the Underworld, which lets you summon a level 3 fiend-type monster from your deck. Then you XYZ summon Leviair the Sea Dragon, which can special summon a banished monster, which just happens to be Rescue Rabbit. So then you do it all over again.

Hieratic
This deck swarms the field with dragons. There are all kinds of monster effects that let you special summon the dragons, and then you can use the dragons to XYZ summon high-level XYZ monsters. This deck uses the Hieratic archetype, as well as Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Number 11: Big Eye, and Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max. This deck is also really cheap.
Wind-Up
This deck is by far the cheapest deck ever in my opinion. Most people don't even use most of the Wind-Up cards. They just use a combination of them that can make the opponent discard their hand one card at a time. The main cards in the deck are Wind-Up Zenmaighty, WInd-Up Hunter, Wind-Up Rat, and Wind-Up Shark. The combination lets you swarm the field, and also slowly makes your opponent discard cards from their hand in one turn. I say slowly because even though it is all in the same turn, it takes forever and you just have to watch the player do that for a while.
Inzektor
Like Wind-Up decks, people only use the exact same combination of Inzektor cards. They are Inzektor Centipede, Inzektor Dragonfly, and Inzektor Hornet. It goes exactly the same every time. You summon Dragonfly, then equip Hornet, then send Hornet to the grave to destroy one of the opponent's cards. Then you special summon Centipede from the deck, equip Hornet again, and send it to the grave to destroy a card again. All that happens by summoning Hornet. Cheap.
Chaos Dragon
This deck uses high level dark and light attribute dragon-type monsters. It uses Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Lightpulsar Dragon, Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, sometimes Chaos Sorcerer, Red Eyes Wyvern and Ecipse Wyvern. It uses Darkness Metal to summon a bunch of dragons, and it uses other monsters' effects to get light and dark monsters in the graveyard. THen you can remove one light and one dark monster to summon either Lightpulsar Dragon, Black Luster Soldier, or Chaos Sorcerer.
